After Thanksgiving run - 7 miles →
Day after Thanksgiving run…still think I ate more calories than I burned off this weekend.   Oh wells.   Getting out an running is what counts.    Going into December is going to be harder as it gets colder out.   Why can’t it be 60 degrees all year round?

Penn State Trip (PSU vs MSU) - a set on Flickr →
Pictures from our Penn State trip last weekend.   It was a good trip, even if it’s an 8 hour drive.  Penn State whooped up on Michigan State to capture the Big Ten championship.   Rose Bowl here we come!

3 mile run →
Got back on track today with a 3 miler.   Still doing the run/walk strategy and it still amazes me.    Have a 7 mile long run coming up this weekend.   Turkey won’t hold me down!

3 mile run →
3 mile run today.   Kathy and I will be traveling to State College, PA tomorrow for Penn State’s last football game against Michigan State.  If Penn State wins, they’ll be the Big10 champs!   Hopeful to get another run in on Monday.   See you then.

6.5 Mile Run →
Now that the season has changed for the colder, it’s harder to get motivated to get out and run.   You gotta love the lobster skin wind thingy going on after a nice run in the fridged temps.   Today’s run was especially hard because it was about 20-25 mph winds out there.   Fun! Still using the Jeff Galloway running method.   Seems to be working well.

5 Mile Run (3x1 min) →
Had to adjust this run back down to 5 miles.   For some reason the Nike+ was off by almost a half mile.   I was wearing a heart rate monitor this time which might have caused interference? Did the 3x1 again for this run.   Felt really good, even at the end.   Kept a nice pace as well.   I’m aiming for an 11 min/mile pace for the half marathon in January.   …if I can survive the cold...

3 mile test run... →
So this was an interesting run. I wanted to try a 3 min run / 1 min walk for 3 miles. This is the strategy that Jeff Galloway speaks of for the long runs and marathons. What’s funny is that I usually run a 10 min / mile pace without doing the walks. Now with the 1 min breaks, I was able to go faster during the runs. Kinda cool. The wife and I have a 5 mile run for our half marathon...
